Gearing up for budget season

Last year, CORM received $1.6M in operational funding after our successful budget presentations. Now that the fall semester has officially arrived, we're preparing our requests for the upcoming fiscal year. Some budget requests have already been identified, including:

  • Increased funding for campus accessibility improvements and furniture renewal
  • Increased funding for energy projects
  • Re-submission of the golf cart renewal program
  • Additional support for custodial and security services
  • Staff and custodial increases
  • Continued support from IT in reviewing our BMS and Salto systems (part of our draft roadmap)

In the coming weeks, your supervisors will be working with you to develop additional priorities for funding requests. As always, your voices are a large part of what makes us successful, so if there are any items that you believe should be a focus for 2018/19, please let your managers know!

"Shave the Grizz" Al King Memorial Fundraiser

Congratulations to Chris Kraft, who held his bi-annual memorial fundraiser for Al King in the courtyard on August 29. Chris shaved his hair and raised $186.00 for the Canadian Cancer Society. Thanks so much to everyone who donated!

Congratulations Troy

At this year's DVC Town Hall, Troy Campbell was presented with a staff award of excellence for Enhancing the UBC Experience. Troy was commended by staff and faculty nominators for his involvement with programs like the bike patrol program and for always treating staff, faculty, and students with dignity and respect.
